We like to wish our friends and co-workers “Happy Holidays” this time of year; so in an additional sentiment of good cheer, I’d like to wish the readers of this blog “Happy Healthy Holidays!” And here to help you on your way to a healthy and fun holiday season, I’ve included a recipe round-up of some of the most delicious holiday recipes the web has to offer. These recipes are super simple, so they will leave you plenty of time for shopping and present-wrapping. But I’m also a big believer in the fact that time spent in the kitchen – especially this time of year – can build special memories with those you love. So grab a child or a grandmother or a nephew, turn on the oven to make delicious holiday foods… and in the process, start a new holiday tradition!

Here’s my Holiday Recipe Round-Up:

Everyone needs a healthful start to a day of shopping, baking or holiday decorating. Whip up this protein-packed egg dish from The Spicy RD for a non-traditional take on the fun Dr. Suess classic Green Eggs and Ham.

Green Eggs, No Ham {Veggies for Breakfast}

In order to dampen temptation from super sugary holiday cookies and candies, pour a cup of peppermint tea and serve one of these fruit and whole grain packed muffins from The Professional Palate.

Cranberry Citrus Muffins

What would this season be without eggnog? Try making a homemade version this year! Use this recipe from the Incredible Egg folks; it uses only ¼ cup of sugar for 12 servings! Use low-fat milk to keep it lighter and don’t forget to top with freshly grated nutmeg.

Classic Cooked Eggnog

When planning holiday meals, use nutrient-filled eggs to make your dressings or sauces – but look for light versions of recipes on the popular blog challenge The Recipe ReDux. Here’s my favorite hollandaise sauce, ReDuxed into a lighter version.

Asparagus with Cheese Sauce

For a simple holiday brunch on Christmas morning, serve a fruity breakfast dish that can be prepared the night before and only needs to be popped into the oven the next morning.

Overnight French Toast with Bananas and Strawberries

Surprisingly, ‘egg-y’ gifts a can be welcome stocking stuffers. My kids adore having their very own kitchen tools which jazz up the hard boiled eggs in their lunch boxes making other kids envious of their nutritious lunch! Here are two of my favorite kid-friendly kitchen gadgets:
